Kaaterskill Falls Hike ! 2

I Love Iceland. 

In NY State about 10 mi north of Woodstock, NY there is one of my favorite falls in the Northeast.

This falls looks like Svartifoss waterfall in Iceland.

Is there a better time for a hike than fall? the temps are perfect; the leaves are changing; and as the foliage starts to fall, you get clear views on crisp days of scenic Ny State --its majestic lakes and purple mountains—off in the distance. We hike to burn some calories, sure, but mostly to pause, and look, and breathe deeply. As we move into cooler weather.

This is one of the most popular hikes in the area, in part because everyone likes waterfalls, and in part because it’s a relatively short hike to a huge, 260-foot payoff, divided over two drops. - A short walk Park provides visitors with a breathtaking views!

Kaaterskill Falls is a two-drop, 260-foot cascade. It’s one of America’s oldest tourist attractions and is immortalized in Hudson River School paintings and Washington Irving’s “Rip Van Winkle.”
