About the event
DetailsÂ
1st. The Vanderbilt Summer estate Tour in Hyde Park is one of America's premier examples of the country palaces built by wealthy industrialists during the Gilded Age.Â
The property, historically known as Hyde Park, was one of several homes owned by Frederick William Vanderbilt and his wife Louise Holmes Anthony. The 54-room Vanderbilt mansion was designed by the preeminent architectural firm McKim, Mead & White. Construction occurred between 1896 and 1899. The house is an example of the Beaux-Arts architecture style.
2nd. Shopping Break in Tarrytown.
3rd. Just 25 miles north of the Big Apple, the Lyndhurst Mansion sits on 67 acres overlooking the Hudson River. This Tarrytown mansion is an imposing limestone building of sharp angles, narrow hallways, and limited natural light, making it one of the most notable examples of Gothic architecture in the United States. But the average American may recognize it as the spooky setting for movies like House of Dark Shadows and series like 7 Deadly Sins and The Blacklist.
